2016 Vermont Brain Bee
7th ANNUAL VERMONT REGIONAL BRAIN BEE
The Vermont Brain Bee (VBB) is a competition for high school students who are interested in neuroscience and the functioning of the brain. These students can demonstrate their knowledge at the annual Vermont Regional Brain Bee at the University of Vermont in February of each year. The winner goes on to the National Brain Bee in Baltimore, MD in March during Brain Awareness Week. The NBB winner will be eligible to attend the International Brain Bee (www.internationalbrainbee.com).

University of Vermont, College of Medicine
- Half day of neuroscience activities (8:30-2:30pm)
- Meet Neuroscience faculty, postdoctoral fellows and grad students
- Continental breakfast and lunch with a keynote speaker
- Both written, practical and oral question and answer competition
- All questions come from:
- “Neuroscience – Science of the Brain“, published by the International Brain Research Organization
- “Brain Facts”, published by the Society for Neuroscience.
- Participants must be high school students in grades 9-12
- TEAM CATEGORY – Besides having individual winners, there will be a team category. Teams must have four students. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
GRAND PRIZE: Expense paid trip for the individual winner to the National Brain Bee in March, 2016!
Registration deadline is January 8th, early registration is encouraged.
The success of this event depends not only on the motivation of the students, but also on the efforts of high school faculty in encouraging their students to participate in this exciting competition.
There will be a Brain Bee Boot Camp to help students prepare for the VBB on Saturday, January 9th, from 9:00am-12:00pm.
