The folks at the Salisbury Public Library are hosting a Story Walk at the Farwell Overlook on West Shore Rd. in Salisbury on July 28th starting at 10:30 AM. This will happen weather permitting–if it is raining that day, the walk will happen at the end of August instead.
This is a self-guided walk up with a story along the way to the top of Farwell Overlook–an easy uphill walk.
Farwell Overlook is on West Shore Rd. Go through the village of Salisbury, past Maple Meadows farm, past the church and the post office and library on Maple St. Bear left at the bottom of the hill to get onto West Shore Rd. As you go up the first hill, Farwell Overlook is on your right. There is a parking area and a sign that says that it is a managed forest, but I don’t think it says ‘Farwell Overlook,’ exactly.
Look for the balloons and a homemade sign to let you know you are there!!!
Park there and walk up the hill on a road through the woods. The road is easy to walk on. Strollers could probably manage the road, but it is a bit steep for pushing. I’d recommend walking. Anyway, come and enjoy! The brook will be singing!
Have fun, and please spread the word around to everyone you know!
