Great news, there’s a new music class in town!
Sunshine Music class, taught by Lila Webb, will be held at Windancer Movement Center in Marble Works this September. Sunshine Music is geared toward children, accompanied by their caregiver, from infancy to preschool age. Spanning many genres of music, the Sunshine Music curriculum contains well-known country, blues, rockabilly, motown, bluegrass, jazz, folk songs and original music written by local musicians.
In Sunshine Music, the theme of each session is based upon songs that are relevant to the current season. This way, children can be introduced to elements of the natural world through a playful, creative exploration of music. Every session, Sunshine Music will host local musicians who will come to class to give the children a chance to see and hear different instruments. For the last class, all the guest musicians will come back and play the children’s favorite songs from class, with the accompaniment provided by the “band.”
Class will be held on Wednesdays, from 10:30-11:30, Sept. 12th-Oct. 24th. The cost is $148 per session, for a second child the price drops down to $58, and for a third child the price drops again to $48.
