Learn about bring play back into the Kindergarten classroom.
We love this article from Erinn Simon, a food chef at Burlington Children’s Space, “What I learned about Love as a School Food Chef.” It’s simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming. Also, don’t miss Erinn’s hands-on smoothie and parfait building class on the Middlebury Town Green from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Foodaroo, Sunday, June 21!
Simple and straightforward, this is worth a read for everyone: “How to Teach your Kids about Sugar.”
Watch our absolute most favorite Ted Talk ever. David Eggers description of how an office turned into an after school tutoring center that couples creativity and innovation with community engagement and a pirate supply store. It’s spectacular! “We’ll have all these writers and editors and everybody — sort of a writing community — coming into the office every day anyway, why don’t we just open up the front of the building for students to come in there after school, get extra help on their written homework, so you have basically no border between these two communities?”
Turns out all those hours of watch Elmo really does help get your little one ready for classroom learning.
