Tibetan Sand Art

Ilsley Public Library front steps (weather back-up:  Community Meeting Room)

Children and families are invited to create Rangoli (traditional temporary sand artwork) on the front steps of Ilsley Public Library with local artist Joy Danila.  The Rangoli style of artwork is an ancient form of meditation and prayer.  As each grain of sand, each leaf, each piece of sawdust blows away, they offer individual prayers of health, safety and peace.  This will serve to welcome and honor the Dalai Lama during his visit to Middlebury.  All skill levels are welcome.  This event is a non-religious/ non-denominational community celebration.  ALL ARE WELCOME!
