our weekend plans

Hello! Natalia taking over the MiniBury blog today. I’m getting ready for the weekend and planning out how to keep our two kiddos and ourselves entertained. Saturday morning we’re headed to the Vermont Book Shop for a local author reading of “Sleep Tight Farm” at 10:30. My daughter Acadia loves animals and this looks like a beautiful book. After we’ll grab lunch at Otter Creek Bakery or take a picnic to Otter View Park, where we usually see herons, frogs, turtles and the occasional beaver. The kids love playing with milk thistle and walking the short trail to the water. The end of the trail is a great place to have a picnic and watch wildlife.

After a late afternoon nap (fingers crossed they nap), we are going to an early dinner at Sabai Sabai. The kids are obsessed with their chicken satay and chicken pad Thai, which means we don’t have to cook! Since our kids are night owls, we’re headed to Brandon to see the play “Robin Hood” at 7:00pm. It’s a children’s theater production. They also have a matinee on Sunday at 2:00pm, that we will go to if our kids crash.

As a homeschool mom, I consider Sunday to be my “day off.” I do my planning for the week, finish my application and then meet a friend for Sunday brunch at Storm Cafe. Matthew, my husband, will take the kids hiking on the trails in our woods.
If the stars align that’s our plan! What’s your plan for the weekend? We’re always looking for more ideas, comment below with your weekend ideas.
