Do you make New Year’s resolutions? This quote came across my internet radar right after the new year and it was just the kick in the pants that I needed to get brave and write….
2015 + 2016 brought enormous changes to this corner of the internet. I opened up MiniBury to advertisers, sponsored blog posts and amazing community partners and summer camps that needed help promoting their activities. Opportunities arose and I said yes to each and every one with enthusiasm and abandon. I felt energized, confident and, quite frankly, really damn boss! I learned new skills and took part in new projects. But it’s time to learn a new skill, how to say goodbye.
MiniBury has been my baby since May of 2012. At that time I was a stay at home mom with a 2.5 year old and 12 month old. Today, I have a 7 year old, a 5.5 year old and 2.5 year old. The skills and relationships I’ve made through this site have led to many amazing opportunities that I will forever be grateful for. But the time has come for me to pass the torch. MiniBury is ready and so am I.
MiniBury is a reliable, trusted community resource center that is used by parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, residents and visitors. MiniBury is not ready to leave this community, so I’m asking for help. If you love MiniBury and would like to continue to see this resource thrive, reach out via email, facebook, instagram, twitter, text, carrier pigeon, or in whatever way you feel comfortable. I’m looking to transfer complete control of the website, facebook, instagram, pinterest and twitter accounts on to the next loving owner(s). I’ll happily introduce you to all the key community partners that have helped MiniBury succeed thus far and guide you through the more technical aspects of running a website. I’m confident that anyone with a love of Addison County children and families can be a successful MiniBury owner/keeper/curator/internet wizard; a bit of hard work, creativity and a whole lot of passion are what run this space. I know from experience, those skills will take you far, so if you need a space to grow, this place is for you. Please feel free to forward this opportunity on to friends and family.
While we search, we’ll continue updating the events calendar and keep updating the summer camp list, because we know you need that information. In fact, look for a new camp guide release on Wednesday this week. What you likely won’t see is new blog posts, but you’ll find funny bits of parenting daily life on our instagram account and interesting articles about Vermont, parenting and general life over on our facebook page. Our deadline for passing MiniBury along is February 17, 2017. This allows us to get through the first round of camp registration dates and set up the next owner to take over for the remainder of the camp registration and spring events schedule. If you’re interested in being involved, please get in touch asap.
I’m confident that there is no height too great for MiniBury to rise to and I can’t wait to watch it soar.
thanks for following along thus far friend,
Eliza

thanks Elizabeth! I’m so glad to hear MiniBury has touched your family! I’m teaming up with a few amazingly resourceful parents to keep this site moving forward! But we need help with content to continue generating awesome ideas, so if you’d ever like to contribute writing, please email me at [email protected]
