These are so easy, but the wow factor is high. My kids had never experienced water balloons before, so just the act of filling a balloon with water was mind-blowing to them. We were inspired to try this project after seeing similar ice balloons outside the Mary Hogan pre-K entrance earlier this winter.
WHAT YOU NEED: balloons, food coloring, cold weather
DIRECTIONS
- Put a few drops of food coloring into a balloon.
- Carefully fill the balloon with water by stretching its opening around the faucet, then tie off the top. Repeat with as many balloons as you want.
- Place your balloons outside in freezing temps overnight.
- When they are fully frozen, cut the balloon away to reveal your magical ice creation!
