Bristol Rec Summer Camps Are On

Bristol Rec Summer Camps Are On

While we work to update our summer camp guide with the latest info from local programs, we’ve decided to tell you about individual camps here as they firm up plans for this unprecedented summer.

We just got this info from the Bristol Recreation Department, which says it is committed to providing a safe experience for all campers, parents and staff. Staff will follow all of the guidelines and/or any additional guidelines provided by the State of Vermont or the CDC.

Here is the most recent COVID 19 State Guidance for Summer Programs (revised 5/28/20).

Here is What Parents Can Expect (VT Dept of Health).

And here is what Bristol Rec is offering this summer:

MOUNTAIN BIKE CAMPS ages 7-12
Bristol Recreation Department is excited to offer a mountain bike skills camp by Professional Mountain Bike Instructors (PMBI). The camp will be based out of the Hub Teen Center and will have access to the trails, parks, and skills field.  Riders will learn bike handling skills, basic bike maintenance, and trail etiquette. Riders should be comfortable on their bikes.

June 22-24, 8am-3:00pm CAMP IS FULL
July 13-17, 8am-3:00pm
August 10-14, 8am-3:00pm

HUB SUMMER CAMP ages 10-15 *Chill Skateboard is ages 10-18
The Bristol Hub has been providing youth a safe space to hang out, eat, explore interests, and learn since the day its doors opened in 1998. During the summer the Hub hosts day camps for youth ages 10-15. Each week has a different theme, but the overall focus is on exploring interests, engaging in the community, learning, and having fun.

Adventure + Chill Camp: June 29-July 2, 8am-3:00pm
Make it Break it Camp: July 6-10, 8am-3:00pm
Art Camp: July 20-24, 8am-3:00pm

RIVER CAMP ages 6-12
Bristol Rec’s longest-running program. This memory-making camp is in its 20th year. This camp offers hiking, swimming, paddling, games & more!
Participants should be willing to do it all. Ability to swim is strongly suggested.

July 27-3, 8am-3:00pm
August 3-7, 8am-3:00pm

Bristol Rec is currently working on how and when it can host its Summer Swim Lesson Program. We will update you as soon as we have all the details.

The folks at Bristol Rec made this video to explain this summer’s camp procedure.
