Want to learn some magic this summer?
Lawrence Memorial Library in Bristol is offering online sessions with Tom Verner of Magicians Without Borders through the end of August. Kids will practice magic tricks with Verner (who you might know from his many performances at Middlebury’s Festival on the Green) and prepare for a magic “performance” at the end of the summer.
Each kid who signs up gets a packet of magic materials (pictured above).
The program is geared toward aspiring magicians aged 9 and up, but younger kids could also participate by teaming up with older siblings, babysitters, grandparents, a librarian, or anyone who needs a little magic this summer.
Sign up here, or call the library at 802-453-2366.
Make a Family Tree
Up in Lincoln, the library is offering take-home activity packs for kids — a new one each Wednesday. Last week they gave out kits to get you started making a family tree (pictured above). Future projects will explore bookmaking, knots, puppets and fairy houses. Go check them out!
Crafting
And don’t forget when you pick up books in the garden at Ilsley Library in Middlebury to also grab their kids craft bags. My kids loved the beading project they got a couple weeks ago.
