Electric Trains are Rolling Down the Tracks!

 Holiday Open House
DECEMBER 3, 2015, 10AM-4PM
FREE TO THE PUBLIC, DONATIONS ACCEPTED
On Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 10am–4pm, and Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 12 noon–4pm, the community is invited to the Sheldon Museum’s annual Holiday Open House. Members of the Middlebury Garden Club have created beautiful dried floral arrangements enhanced with natural botanical designs in keeping with the period of the historic Judd-Harris House.  Carols played on the Museum’s 1831 piano, a Twelve Days of Christmas miniature tree raffle and of course the trains will all add to the festive event.

antique-lionel-engine-and-tenderWhat has become an annual holiday tradition in Middlebury, the Midd-Vermont Train Club’s elaborate electric train layout is sure to delight all ages. Over the years, the assemblage has grown and now stands 3 levels high, with two tracks running Lionel O gauge trains and the upper track running HO trains.  The backdrop of the green mountains painted by local artist Gayl Braisted adds atmosphere. Last year we added a Lionel milk car that delivers milk cans — come back this year to see what’s new!

Admission to the Holiday Open House is by donation.
