Each year 12 women’s hockey teams from across Vermont get together for a tournament to raise money for the Cancer Patient Support Program.

The Face Off Against Breast Cancer, a fundraiser hockey tournament now in its 15th year, is a true community event that brings women and families from all over Vermont together for an important cause. The Middlebury Otters and the Middlebury Mystix, two local women’s teams, join forces with ten other women’s hockey teams from all over Vermont, competing in games in competitive, recreational, and novice divisions. There’s even a “Friends and Family” division for men, kids, and co-ed groups. Ongoing hospitality and refreshments will be served in the Warming Hut.

The Concessions proceeds will go toward helping the Middlebury Swim Team and the Midd Kid Dance program through Middlebury Parks & Recreation! Stop by the Warming Hut for delicious food, beverages, and snacks to support the causes!

The Cancer Patient Support Program offers supportive and rehabilitative services to cancer patients and their families. Based in Burlington, Vermont, the Program was created by a group of cancer survivors and others who have been touched by cancer. CPSP provides a range of no-charge support services, including professional counseling, nutritional support, and the Emergency Fund. Proceeds from the Face Off Against Breast Cancer go to the Emergency Fund and Patient Services, all earmarked for patients facing a breast cancer diagnosis. All services are provided free of charge, and requests have come from every county in Vermont.
