More on the “Flights to Freedom” Paper Crane Project: The ancient Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 paper cranes, called senbazuru, is undertaken as a prayer for healing, happiness, and good luck. The folding of cranes has become an act that symbolizes the hope for world peace.
