851pumpkinThe city of Vergennes is set for the big pumpkin day on Saturday, October 25 from 4:30 – 7:30. The annual event offers new activities for all ages. Trick or Treating on Main Street and at the Vergnnes Residential Care Home runs from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. From 4:30-6:30 the Boys and Girls Club will be sponsoring games and face painting on the park. The Great Pumpkin Cook-off happens from 5:30-6:30 for cooks of all ages and abilities. Prizes awarded for first, second and third place best pumpkin dessert and best savory creation in adult, youth (under 18) and restaurant categories. Food is available for sampling after the judging.

Pumpkin carving contest and lighting. Drop off carved pumpkins by 6:30 at City Park.

6:30 Halloween safety presentation at fire station. The Police Dept. will be giving away free reflective bags and glow sticks to be used on Halloween.
