Join MALT, Vermont Coverts, and VT Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation for a walk in the woods and workshop to learn how to identify common Vermont trees and shrubs during the winter months. Focusing on their twig, bud, needle, and bark characteristics, Mark Raishart of VT Fish & Wildlife and Lisa Sausville of VT Coverts will share common native and non-native tree species and recommend resources that participants can use to ID trees on their own. The walk will be around 1 mile on uneven and sloping terrain.
