It’s officially here folks, summer! Time to break out the swim suits, flip flops and relax. However, for many families, summer translates to increased food instability for their children. Did you know that one in five Vermont children experiences hunger or food hardship? Fortunately, there are countless groups working tirelessly around the state to make sure that EVERY child who needs food has access to high quality food during the summer months. To learn more about the free food opportunities here in Addison County read on.
There are free meals for Addison County kids this summer. Thanks to the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), summer meals are available at no charge to all children 18 and under! There will be many participation locations throughout the county.
