Middlebury Area Land Trust announced last summer that it would take a hiatus from offering afterschool programs for the fall. The organization’s educational director had taken a new job out of state, and executive director Jamie Jo Horton was on maternity leave.
Good news: MALT afterschool is back!
This February 28 through June 12, MALT will host its popular outdoor afterschool program for kids in K-3rd grade on Wednesday afternoons. Students will meet at Mary Hogan Elementary before riding public transit to Means Woods where they’ll play and explore until 5:15 p.m.
Registration for the Mary Hogan program will run January 29th at 8 a.m. through January 31st at 6 pm. Registration is a lottery-based system, so no rush to register.
MALT members pay $225 for the spring; non-members pay $265. Visit maltvt.org/school-program to register and learn more about the program.
MALT will add a second afterschool program at Cornwall Elementary sometime in the spring. Registration dates and other details will be given at a later date.
