From the ADDISON CENTRAL SUPERVISORY UNION
NEW SPRING SCREENING ACTIVITIES – MARCH 2015
Within the local community of preschool and day care programs, the ACSU Early Education Program’s role is to identify young children ages three to five with disabilities and/or developmental delays, and to collaborate with parents and programs to help address their needs. To do so, we have changed our screening process to better target children with special needs. In the past, we have tried to screen all children who reside within the Addison Central Supervisory Union. With this new process, we do not need to screen children who are making excellent developmental progress.
If you reside in the towns of Bridport, Cornwall, Middlebury, Ripton, Salisbury, Shoreham, or Weybridge and have a child born between 9/2/10 and 9/1/12 who is attending a licensed preschool or registered day care in these communities, screening is coming to your child’s center in March! Information will be coming home from your center, or call 382-1760 for more information.
If you have a child born between 9/2/10 and 9/1/12 who doesn’t attend preschool or day care in one of the ACSU towns and you have questions or concerns about your child’s development, please contact the ACSU Early Education Program at 382-1760 to talk about screening. Public Screenings will take place at Junebug, 5 Park Street in Middleburry on March 18th and 19th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
