Rokeby Museum
Artists of Rokeby Summer Camp
This year, we will be offering two sessions, each one a week long. Both sessions will feature the same program, and our hope is to accommodate parents who need a more flexible schedule.
Join Rokeby Museum for a 5-day experience that combines art, nature, and hands-on history. Play fun games as you learn about the Robinson artists who walked through these grounds. Take nature walks, practice birdwatching, and search for animal tracks as you immerse yourself in the same locations that inspired the Robinsons. Study the Robinsons’ sketches, scrapbooks, and paintings, then try your hand at each medium!
No artistic experience required. All supplies are provided. Just bring yourself and be ready to be inspired!

Description
Does your child love to doodle, tell stories, or dream up their own characters? At Comic Creator Camp, your child will spend the week creating their very own comic from start to finish! They will enjoy planning and writing their story, illustrating new characters and exciting scenes, and wrapping it all up with a final bound copy to bring home on Friday. This camp is perfect for creative, comic-loving kids! AND, it is a wonderful option for children who do best in a small group setting, neurodivergent children who need accommodations and sensory support, or those who need a little bit of academic structure during the summer to prevent learning loss. Throughout the week, subtle and personalized reading and writing support will be incorporated in a way that feels fun, creative, and confidence-building. Shhh… don’t tell them… 🙂
We’ll take daily walking field trips to places like the Bristol Town Green and Lawrence Memorial Library. Throughout the week, campers will also collaborate on a student-led community project to bring their love of comics to downtown Bristol in a way that’s uniquely theirs. Last year, students designed and hid small comic squares throughout Main Street. We are so excited for all the fun and adventures this summer!

Description
It’s almost time for kindergarten! Starting school is a huge milestone for both kids and their families, and our Kindergarten Readiness Camp is designed to make the transition feel easier, calmer, and more exciting. Throughout the week, your child will build confidence in the skills that matter most for a successful start to kindergarten: social-emotional regulation, classroom routines, early literacy foundations, and learning how to be part of a group. Everything is taught through play, movement, hands-on activities, and kid-friendly practice that feels fun (not like “school work”).
Your child will practice kindergarten-readiness skills like…
- Morning circle routines (songs, stories, listening, raising a hand, taking turns, joining group games)
- Being a student in a classroom (following directions, transitioning between activities, trying again when something is hard)
- Name practice (recognizing their name and building confidence with early writing and identification)
- Alphabet exploration (letters, sounds, and playful early phonics activities)
- Friendship skills (kindness, teamwork, sharing materials, joining play, and solving small problems together)
- Big feelings support (identifying emotions, practicing calming strategies, and learning what to do when upset)
By the end of the week, your child will feel genuinely excited to walk into kindergarten knowing what to expect (and knowing they can do it!).
