Want to be a MiniBury Contributor?
MiniBury is powered by the Addison Independent and built for families across Addison County. Each week, we curate local events, activities, and resources—and we’re looking to expand the voices behind our content. We’re inviting parents, caregivers, and community members to be part of a “community journalism” initiative by contributing to the MiniBury weekly email newsletter.
Why contribute?
By bringing in a variety of voices, experiences, and family stories, we can better reflect our whole community.
What we’re looking for:
- 10–12 volunteer contributors
- A one-year commitment
- 4 short, first-person pieces per year (about one per quarter)
- 300–500 words per piece
- At least one photo to accompany each submission
These personal anecdotes will be featured in our weekly Tuesday newsletter and on MiniBury.com, highlighting real-life parenting moments, local adventures, and everyday experiences in Addison County. You can take a look at past submissions here.
Not sure if you have the time to commit? We get it! If you’d like to just submit one or two pieces a year, that’s also totally fine.
How it works:
- Submissions are due the Friday before your scheduled publication
- Our editorial team will review, edit, and collaborate with you before publishing
- Each contributor will be featured with a short bio (name, town, and a bit about your family)
We’re especially excited to build a contributor group that reflects the diversity of our community, different backgrounds, perspectives, and family structures, so that every local caregiver can see themselves represented.
