what we’ve been reading lately

We can readily admit that we love reading mommy blogs. Enough said. Here’s two article’s worth sharing:

This article describes the good, bad, and ugly moments of motherhood with such eloquence it’s likely to bring tears to your eyes while you nod your head in agreement. Trust us, it’s worth the 5 minutes of reading time. Here’s a snippet:

If we think it’s a job, then nothing makes sense about it. How is it possible that it’s so important but also so undervalued? How is it possible to be a good mother if you’re with your kids 24/7 but also be a good mother if you leave them to go work for a good part of the day? How can we take such satisfaction from being with our kids but be so bored by all the stuff we have to do for our kids?
But motherhood makes sense when you realize that it’s a relationship. Loving and nurturing your child is the relationship you have with your child. Read on
 

If you need a good laugh, read this article it’s hilarious! We probably won’t ever introduce the Elf, but we’re pretty sure we’d agree with this author’s sentiments if we ever had one.

You’ve heard about him, right?  The Elf on the Shelf, I mean.  A cute little magical surprise every morning for children.  Feels more like the Christmas crabs for parents.  This is my first year with the Elf…..So I could lie right now and tell you that the Elf on the Shelf is the best shit since Magic Mike, but I won’t.  Here is the truth about the Elf and why you need to guard your loins avoid him.
