We Vermonters are a tough lot; we suffer through harsh winters for what seems to be the shortest and sweetest summer season. So, it should come as no surprise that each weekend is packed to the gills with activities. Here are our suggestions for a fun-filled weekend.
Friday night… it’s a toss up between Wine Down Friday at Lincoln Peak Vineyard or the Sheldon Museum Pops Concert. Both offer outdoor picnic dinner options and live music. Pops throws a trump card with fireworks, but Lincoln peak wins our hearts with it’s stunning sunsets–although the college views aren’t too shabby either.
Saturday.. clearly you’re going to pick up all your fresh produce at the Farmer’s Market before hitting the Wellness Awareness Day event on the Town Green (look for more information about MiniBury there too!). Then you’re dropping the kids off with a sitter at home so you can fully enjoy the Midd Summer Fest in Marble Works. Or maybe you’ll bag all the group events and head to the woods for a hike.
Sunday… you choose pickleball, tennis or hanging out at a local swimming hole – our little guy’s vote.
***Junior anglers don’t forget about the three day fishing derby in Vergennes this weekend.***
What’s your family doing this weekend? Email us suggestions! If anyone has any camping suggestions, please pass those along. We’d like to do a post about family friendly camp sites but have little experience of our own.
P.S. Have you ever tried Garlic Scapes? These delicious little devils are in season now and available at the Middlebury Farmer’s Market and Middlebury Co-op. Try them quick though, their season is short!
