Does anyone else feel like this is the time of year to take a deep breath and spend some quality time together as a family? With Halloween behind us and the holidays still lingering just out of sight, we’re savoring these quieter days.
That said, there’s plenty to keep you busy on Saturday this weekend!
If you have a chocolate lover in your house, or just need an afternoon pick me up, skip the coffee and head straight to the new Middlebury Chocolate hot chocolate pop-up shop in Clementine. We had the pleasure of product testing yesterday and can assure you that their incredibly yummy hot chocolate is just right for a chilly afternoon treat! Although we did not share (we were savoring every.last.drop), we’re sure even the littlest coco connoisseur would approve too! The shop is open 1:30-4:00 p.m. Thursday and Saturday from now until December 21ˢᵗ.
Families with middle-school girls, check out the Sister-to-Sister Summit at Middlebury College.
Like a little friendly competition in your family? Then swing by the Ilsley for Marathon Game Day.
Stock up on local produce, meats and crafts at Middlebury Winter Farmer’s Market.
Need a new pet? As a thank you to the community, Homeward Bound is offering free adoptions all day at their adopt-a-thon!
Burn a few calories, learn a new trick or just learn to skate at the Memorial Sports Center public skate.
Local area teens and their families are invited to the ever popular, DJ Skate Night at the Memorial Sports Center for classic roller rink style family fun!
We hope you followed our advice and bought your tickets to Shrek the Musical because nearly all the matinée showings are booked solid!
No tickets? Go cheer on the Middlebury Men’s Hockey team at 7:00 p.m. instead! They also face off against Colby at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Added bonus: all regular season games are FREE this year due to the construction surrounding Kenyon arena!
Please note: Parking for hockey on Saturday and Sunday will be in both the football tailgate area as well as the Mahaney Center for the Arts parking lot. If you park in the football tailgate area, to enter the building walk behind Kenyon through the parking lot and enter the building using the new squash entrance and then walk up the stairs to the corner entrance. If you park in the Mahaney Center for the Arts parking lot, use the Rte 30 sidewalk to use the front entrance to the facility (using the bridge to enter the building) and follow signs to Kenyon Arena. You might want to arrive 5 minutes before you normally would to allow your family some trial and error time! What’s your family doing this weekend? Email us suggestions!
