Ok, so this one’s not really about kids, but there’s something pretty extraordinary (and crazy) happening this weekend. On Saturday, the three friends, Ryan, Tim (pro cyclocross rider), and Ted (pro cyclist), are going to tackle a tri-state, 200 mile route on bikes… that’s right bikes (and no we don’t mean motorcycles).
If you see these guys along the roadways on Saturday, please feel free to ride along* with them, cheer them on, or share some fuel in the form of food or drink. Or if you want to help in another way, check out their website and buy a t-shirt. Last year they raised nearly $2,000 for those affected by hurricane Irene floods in Vermont (check out their website to see the 2011 video). This year all proceeds go to will go to the victims of Colorado’s fires.
The team leaves Burlington around 6 am and hope to arrive in South Portland between 5 and 6 pm.
*if you do plan to ride along, please see their website for the route and some practical suggestions (such as they are riding on public roads and will only be riding two abreast).
