Have you heard of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library? Children (birth to five years) who are registered for this wonderful program receive a FREE children’s book in the mail each month that is theirs to keep. Addison County Readers, is the local sponsor of the Imagination Library and pays for the entire cost of the books, approximately $30 per child per year. Currently nearly 1000 Addison County children are receiving a monthly, age-appropriate books.

“By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, [Dolly Parton] wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could insure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.”

Our family loves the Imagination Library books and here are a few reasons why:

New titles! Most of the books we receive have been completely new to us and we spend a lot of time at the library and bookshop!
