There has been some discussion on Front Porch Forum about the recent removal of the little playground near the Middlebury courthouse. We had heard through the grapevine that it would be replaced. Here’s the official word from Middlebury Parks & Rec Superintendent Dustin Hunt:
“I’m happy to report the toddler playground is not gone forever, just under construction. The new playground was slated to be installed this fall but we ran into some COVID-19 related delays in the production and shipping of the different components.
“We will now be installing the playground as soon as weather allows in the spring of 2021 and are excited to unveil what will be the first truly inclusive playground in Middlebury.
“We certainly apologize for the inconvenience that the delay has caused but we look forward to welcoming kids back in 2021 to a new and improved playground that will be inviting for children of all abilities.”
