Middlebury College students in Professor Marcia L. Collaer’s psychology class this January are conducting a fully online, paid research study investigating visual reasoning in children aged 4 to 12 years. They are looking for parents and their children to participate together.
The results of the study will be used to understand the developmental trajectory of visual reasoning in children as they move from preschool through elementary school. “Hopefully it will result in conference presentations and perhaps a published article if we can recruit a sufficient number of interested participants,” says Professor Collaer.
All of the data will be confidential. The researchers will not know identities of any of the participants as they analyze the results, and they have approval for the study from the Middlebury College Institutional Review Board.
The study involves both the parent and child participating online for approximately 30 minutes in exchange for a $20 Visa gift card. Parents and children must be fluent in English and must reside in the US. If you and your child are interested, please learn more and sign up here.
The deadline to participate by is January 25.
