Winter Outings To Combat Cabin Fever

01.05.2023 By: Megan Jamescomment

The calendar is bare bones right after the holidays, so in lieu of sharing specific events and activities this weekend, I decided to round up some of my family’s favorite winter outings.

Road trip to the Burlington area for:

ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain

Petra Cliffs Climbing Center & Mountaineering School

Monkey Do Indoor Playground

Get Air Williston

Or head south to:

Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum in Rutland

Montshire Museum of Science in Norwich

Or cross the Lake Champlain Bridge to explore the fort ruins at

Crown Point State Historic Site

Or stay local! We love playing at:

the Weybridge School castle playground

the zig-zag bridge in Middlebury’s Wright Park

The Watershed Center in Bristol

The Robert Frost Interpretive Trail in Ripton

The Spirit in Nature Trail in Goshen

The Bristol skatepark

When there’s snow, go play in it at:

the Middlebury Snowbowl

Rikert Outdoor Center

Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center

When it’s cold enough for outdoor ice, go skating at:

Hescock’s Ice Rink in Shoreham

the Vergennes Rec Ice Rink

the Bristol Ice Rink

When it’s not cold enough for outdoor ice, skate at

Memorial Sports Center
