Yesterday Middlebury College announced that it would send students home early because of concerns about COVID-19. As a result, all college-sponsored events have been canceled, including a Sister-to-Sister observatory night that was scheduled for this Friday and was previously listed on our events calendar.
Let’s Grow Kids has also canceled its Early Childhood Day and Rally for Kids, which was scheduled to take place today at the Statehouse in Montpelier.
Local elementary, middle and high schools are proceeding with caution right now. According to ACSD superintendent Peter Burrows, Vermont school districts are being directed to take guidance from the Agency of Education and the Vermont Department of Health in the event of school closure. That guidance can be found here.
In light of all this, it’s a good idea to always double check or call ahead to confirm that an event we’ve listed on our calendar is still happening.
