Creating family fun since 1948, Vermont’s largest agricultural fair features midway rides for all ages, racing pigs, Wildlife Encounters live animal shows, demolition derbies, livestock shows and demonstrations, live music, magic and hypnotism shows, tractor pulls, horse shows, exhibits, 4-H workshops, children’s activities, tethered hot air balloon rides, Milking Parlor & Dairy Bar, Maple Sugar House, contests and favorite fair food.

Highlights include:
Western Only Youth Horse Show, Miniature Donkey Show, Gymkhana, opening parade (Aug. 8); Dairy Show, ox pulling, Short Notice Band, demolition derby (Aug. 9); Annual ACFFD Open Horse Show, Youth Sheep Show, pony pulling, Twist of Fate band (Aug. 10); Draft Horse Show, Sheep Show, horse pulling, Vorsteveld Family Band (Aug. 11); Poultry Breeders Show, Stunt Dog Productions Show, The Voice’s Jake Worthington and a fireworks display (Aug. 12).

Daily admission (includes parking, grandstands, all field days shows and exhibits) for ages 12 and older is $10 on Aug. 8, $12 Aug. 9-12 or $45 for a season pass. Admission for ages 6-11 is $5 per day or $15 for a season pass. Ages 5 and younger are admitted free. Seniors receive free admission on Aug. 8 with a Green Mountain Passport.

Unlimited ride bracelets are $15 from 6-11 pm Aug. 8, $20 from 12-11 pm Aug. 9, $12 from 12-6 pm Aug. 11, and $17 from 6-11 pm Aug. 10-12. Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 3 or more tickets each.

The fairgrounds are open from 8 am to midnight. The midway opens daily at noon. For more information, call 866-666-3247.

Dr. Matthew Perchemlides

Dr. Matthew Perchemlides, ND, FABNO, MSN, BSN holds a degree in Naturopathic Medicine, as well as a Masters in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. He also has a degree in nursing from Boston College. Before Dr. Perchemlides became a Licensed Naturopathic Physician, he worked as a Registered Nurse in multiple areas, including pediatrics as well as all areas of adult medicine. After graduating first in his medical school class, Dr. Perchemlides went on to complete a naturopathic oncology residency with Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, OK, earning a specialization in naturopathic oncology. Dr. Perchemlides provides primary care to adults and children as well as specialized naturopathic care in the areas of oncology and chronic disease. He practices naturopathic medicine in Middlebury, VT as a member of the natural health cooperative Riverside Natural Health Center.
