It’s the Little City’s French Heritage Day celebration July 13 in Vergennes City Park. This annual family event features something for everyone – food, music, games!
Here’s just a partial list of what you can do at this free, education, fun-filled family day:
•Listen to Franco-American music including Va et Vient and Gitane in concert!
•French Canadian fiddling and Indian storytelling
•Learn French response songs
•Enjoy step-dancing
•Re-enactors
•French food
•Antique vehicles and engines
•Traditional craft demonstrations
•Fencing demonstrations
•Exhibits
•Hands-on fun such as churning ice cream, pumping water, old time games, horse and carriage rides
•French Canadian Genealogical Society will help you trace your roots
•Children’s educational activities including Les Chapeaux Puppet Theater and book reading
•Waiter’s Race for professionals and non-professionals of all ages. Application will be available soon.
•Narrated English and French historical walking tour with “le Comte de Vergennes”
