17th Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Exhibit

opening reception is Friday, December 4th from 4 – 6 pm

16th Annual Gingerbread house contenst and exhbit

Announcing the Vermont Folklife Center’s 17th annual Gingerbread House competition, exhibit, and food drive, which takes place at 88 Main Street in Middlebury from December 4th through December 22th.

Registration forms available at (www.vermontfolklifecenter.org) or in person. Prizes of Middlebury Money (redeemable in over 100 local businesses) awarded in each category.

Food drive in partnership with the Addison Community Action Food Shelf. Each person/group to donate food will be entered in a free raffle to win 2 pizzas from Nino’s Pizza in Middlebury.

This year’s theme is “Digital Folklore.” Today folklore thrives online and in text messages. This year’s theme, “Digital Folklore’: Emoji, Rainbow Unicorns and Lolcats” celebrates contemporary, electronic creativity by bringing it off your screens and into the real world–as gingerbread!

Participation in the theme is voluntary. This competition is open to all ages and abilities.

Registration forms are due Saturday, November 28. Your creation must be delivered on December 1st or 2nd (from 10 am – 5 pm).

Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Hello, I’m Eliza. I founded MiniBury in 2012 because I had a hunch that I wasn't the only parent in Addison County missing fun family friendly events. I love the challenge of finding and sharing information about our community to other parents.
