Barter Day is happening once again! This beloved tradition will be held in the downstairs meeting space at the Brandon Town Hall. Tables will be provided. The first ½ hour or so is for the youth to set up their goods and to have a look around at each others’ offerings. Then the bartering will begin!
For folks who don’t know what barter day is: It is a time and space where youth in our homeschool community can bring their homemade items and can engage in bartering—trading with others for the things they brought. The people bartering figure out their own terms for the exchanges they are interested in—it is good practice in negotiating.
All types of homemade items are welcome—baked goods, crafted items, etc. Some examples of past bartered items include: homemade chocolates, beeswax candles, beaded items, origami & paper airplanes, cookies, hot chocolate mixes, jewelry, paperweights, knitted items, soap, wood-burned artwork, ornaments, and so many more wonderful, creative items!
