Middlebury Aquatic Club – Winter Swimming – Informational meeting

Tuesday, October 4th at 6pm

Middlebury College pool/natatorium (upper balcony)

Meet the coaches and get your questions answered!

PHILOSOPHY

Middlebury Aquatic Club (MAC) offers an organized age-group swimming program for children from 5 years of age and up.  We meet the needs of all swimmers, from beginner to advanced, by following a progressive developmental model that fosters excellence and commitment to the team in a fun atmosphere.  We want swimmers to achieve their best, and as members of MAC, they will learn the value of sportsmanship and be empowered with physical, emotional, and intellectual skills to last a lifetime.

SEASON

Our season begins October 10, 2016, and will extend into March for those swimmers qualifying for higher-level championship meets.  Practices are held at Middlebury College’s Natatorium.

PRACTICE GROUPS

Swimmers who are at least 5 years old and can swim 25 yards independently are eligible to join our program.

Cubs (5-9 years old) are introduced to rhythmic breathing and competitive strokes.  Practices are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-7:45pm.

Cats (8-12 years old) focus on stroke development and technique while building endurance.  Practices are held Mondays through Thursdays, 7-8:00pm.

Jr. Panthers (9-13 years old) concentrate on endurance, commitment, and competition with an introduction to race strategy.  Practices are held Mondays through Thursdays, 6:45-8:15pm, with dryland practice Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15-6:45pm. Saturday morning practices TBD.

Sr. Panthers (13 and older) experience intensive water training with continued emphasis on endurance, commitment, and competition combined with dry land training and utilization of race strategy.  Practices are held Mondays through Thursdays, 6:45-8:30pm, with dryland practice Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:15-6:45pm. Saturday morning practices TBD.

Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Hello, I’m Eliza. I founded MiniBury in 2012 because I had a hunch that I wasn't the only parent in Addison County missing fun family friendly events. I love the challenge of finding and sharing information about our community to other parents.
