The Agency of Education is holding a public hearing on the Proposed Act 166 Rules on May 20, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:30PM. “Act 166 provides universal publicly funded prekindergarten education for a minimum of ten hours per week for 35 weeks annually for all 3, 4 and 5 year-old children who are not enrolled in kindergarten.Act 166 was to come into effect on July 1, 2015; however, as a consequence of the Transition Relief Bulletin, school districts may opt to wait until July 1, 2016 to fully implement Act 166.” Parents, early educators, schools, supervisory unions, school board members, and community members are encouraged to attend, ask questions and learn more about the proposal.
The hearing will broadcast simultaneously at the following seven Vermont Interactive Television sites with a live feed:
