Celebrate fall traditions of Vermont’s farms and forests with music, hayrides, demonstrations, fresh food, antique farm machines, roving livestock and a hay-bale maze. LOTS to do for children!
“Come celebrate Vermont farm and forestry traditions through connections with food, agriculture, and community! This day-long festival features music, storytelling, hands-on activities for children, traditional craft demonstrations, educational exhibits on Vermont’s agricultural, environmental, and energy future. Throughout the day, families can participate in hands-on activities in the Family Tent and spend time in the Children’s Farmyard. Educational exhibits will feature antique farm machinery, birds of prey, farm animals, and more! There will be opportunities to meet craftspeople – rug hookers, woodworkers, weavers, spinners, cheesemakers, and gardeners – and try some traditional arts. There will be “forest to furniture” demonstrations of wood turning, carving, pole lathe, and more. The festival will also include a hay bale maze (“the hay-mazing race”), as well as horse-drawn hay rides provided by Green Mountain Draft Horse Association and Green Mountain Miniature Horse and Donkey Association. “
