Bring the whole family for a festive solstice celebration. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
THT theater camp students have crafted two original plays about the Lunar New Year: “The Great Race” about the creation of the Chinese Calendar, & “Enter The Rabbit”, a story about Dragon & Rabbit’s special bond formed during The Great Race, featuring puppets – including a 20-foot-long snake – made by the students. 🐍
Why a snake, you may ask? 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. Representing wisdom, elegance, and mystery, the snake is often seen as a symbol of transformation and adaptability.
Festivities culminate in a procession of lanterns & puppets – led by the giant snake! – from the Town Hall steps to Triangle Park and back again.
