for everyone

01.03.2013 By: Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Please, please read this.

Honestly, I’ve heard and briefly thought of anchoring our furniture, but since our first child has been so cautious, I never really even considered taking action. Nor did I every truly think through the consequences of my laziness. Needless to say, this story left me completely breathless and anxious. Her pain is so raw and visceral that I had to stop reading multiple times to finish the entire piece. Truthfully there are parts I can’t even stomach; parts that I couldn’t read. But it seems that’s the point, the pain is so close to home that it demands attention and action. So I’m vowing to make our house safer in 2013. I hope you will too.

*Please also know that I’ve considered not sharing this story. I like to keep things here at MiniBury upbeat and, quite frankly, impersonal. But this story shook me to my core and the guilt I feel now of sharing a painful story pales in comparison to the guilt I’d feel if something like this happened in our community. Please consider sharing this with other parents, grandparents and neighbors.*

Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Hello, I’m Eliza. I founded MiniBury in 2012 because I had a hunch that I wasn't the only parent in Addison County missing fun family friendly events. I love the challenge of finding and sharing information about our community to other parents.
