MiniBury, I have a confession for you: I don’t really care about cobwebs.
I’m much too busy looking down at smiling faces.
Or at the enormous worm, in a little hand, someone brought in from the garden.
Sometimes someone is practicing tying their shoes and I need to concentrate.
I do care about lots of things! Just not cobwebs.
Because there’s a tea party in front of the sink and I really have to watch my step.
I’ve been gifted a Play-Doh donut and I want to eat it while it’s fresh.
There’s also a baby doll that needs burping, and I ought to help out when I can. It takes a village after all!
If I start to feel even the slightest bit guilty about my ceiling situation, my kids are really good at distracting me.
Because the piano isn’t going to play itself.
I also genuinely don’t want to step on a Lego ever again, which demands focus downward.
Then, there are far too many good books to read before bed.
Someday, I’m going to look up like I once did before motherhood and I’m certain the clean corners will be bittersweet.
