Oh how we’ve missed getting together for storytime! We went to the Bixby Library‘s outdoor storytime on Wednesday morning, and it was so fun. Children’s librarian DeAnna Lippman, who had been Zooming her sessions for months, started back up in person, at the bandstand on the Vergennes green, earlier this month. She meets every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. — and she does a lot of singing and dancing!
DeAnna will be doing special storytimes at the Rokeby Museum in Ferrisburgh, too. The first one is Tuesday, June 15, at 3:30 p.m., and you don’t have to pay museum admission to attend. (Hot tip: Tuesday afternoons at the museum are “pay what you can”; kids under 5 are free every day).
Over in Bristol, Lawrence Memorial Library is opening its doors to browsing on June 1. Children’s librarian Marita Schine’s excellent storytimes — she usually plays her ukulele! — start up in person (in the library garden, weather permitting) Thursday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m. The annual Teddy Bear Picnic on the green is scheduled for Thursday, June 24 at noon!
As for Ilsley, children’s librarian Tricia Allen plans to return to the free summer lunch program outside Memorial Sports Center on her book bike! The meal program starts on June 21; Tricia will be there Thursdays, noon-1 p.m., beginning on June 24!
There will also be a drop-in pre-k art activity in the Ilsley garden on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., starting June 23.
In East Middlebury, Sarah Partridge Librarian Laura Fetterolf will do a Bring Your Own Lunch Storytime behind the library on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m., starting on June 22.
Want to make some music with your little ones? Middlebury Community Music Center is offering two sessions of Music Together — one in Lincoln, one in Middlebury — this spring, starting in mid-June. Register here.
