keep calm, relief is just around the corner

07.03.2013 By: Eliza, MiniBury Founder

cropped-IMG_6669.jpgWe all know the dog days of summer are coming, so we’ve pulled together some of our favorite local swimming holes to help you beat the heat this summer. We hope you’ll help us grow this list, by passing along your favorite places to cool off too. Email us suggestions anytime.

For the littlest fish, we recommend Button Bay or Branbury (state parks). Button Bay features a pool with a gradual entrance and water slide, plus an impressive collection of life guards. The 1000 foot natural sandy beach, clean, clear Lake Dunmore water, and the large open grassy areas make Branbury very popular for swimming, sunning, or picnicking. For more daring fish, don’t miss Bristol Falls on Lincoln Road in Bristol.

Be sure to check the weather before you go, especially when thunderstorms are in the forecast! And before you head off you, take a few minutes to read about water safety here.

Stay safe and have fun!

Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Hello, I’m Eliza. I founded MiniBury in 2012 because I had a hunch that I wasn't the only parent in Addison County missing fun family friendly events. I love the challenge of finding and sharing information about our community to other parents.
