The students at Ripton Elementary and Salisbury Community Schools wanted to do something to help the people of Ukraine. So under the guidance of their art teacher, Eileen Gombosi, they created “Cards for Caring,” a service learning project to provide humanitarian relief.
They’ve created handmade notecards using pen and ink, watercolor paint and printmaking, finding inspiration from the work of renowned Ukrainian folk artist Maria Prymachenko.
You can find the local students’ cards for sale at the Middlebury Frameshop, Middlebury Studio School, Sparrow Art Supply and the Ripton Country Store. Cards are bundled in packs of 4 and sold for $5. All proceeds will go to Heart to Heart International, working on the frontlines to aid those affected by the conflict. You can also buy the cards directly from the schools, or by emailing Eileen Gombosi at [email protected].
