Introducing the Tour de Farms Tricycle Route ~ GIVEAWAY

09.07.2013 By: Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Family_Weekend copyHave you heard about the Le Tour de Farms in Shoreham? Back for its sixth annual year, this bike ride through  Shoreham and Orwell features gorgeous scenery, delicious food and a lot of useful information!

This year the Tour de Farms will offer a new 2-mile (roundtrip) “Tricycle Route” for families to get some exercise and learn about all of the amazing food education resources in our county.

For only $5 per child, and no fee for accompanying adults, kids of all ages and their parents are invited to walk or ride from the Shoreham Green to Blue Stone Farm where farms, county schools and family organizations have been invited to set up info booths, offer activities or provide tasty samples. There will be animals to pet, a scavenger hunt, a school garden taste test and much more! Make it a full-day family trip to Shoreham with the Farmall Hill antique farming equipment demonstrations on Doolittle Rd. in the morning, the Tour de Farms at midday and Applefest back on the Shoreham Green through the afternoon!

TdF_calvesWondering what could make this day any better? ACORN (Addison County Relocalization Network) has partnered with the Vermont Dept. of Health Middlebury district office to offer coupons for free entry to the Trike Route. Luckily for you, they’ve partnered with MiniBury and we’re giving away tickets to the first ten families that tell us why they want to participate!

To enter simply leave a comment below, comment on our facebook post, or email us. Be sure to mention your email address and how many kids in your house are planning to ride so we can email you the correct amount of coupons.

*If you miss our contest don’t fear, Junebug in Middlebury also has 18 free tickets to give away. Each ticket is good for one child & one adult on the new tricycle route. Tickets are first come, first serve and available for pick up only during regular Junebug hours 9:30-5 Tuesday-Saturday.

Eliza, MiniBury Founder

Hello, I’m Eliza. I founded MiniBury in 2012 because I had a hunch that I wasn't the only parent in Addison County missing fun family friendly events. I love the challenge of finding and sharing information about our community to other parents.

I want to participate because I have two boys….7 and 5 who love to ride bikes but we live in the middle of a huge hill, so they only get to ride on our driveway…it will be great fun to actually bike to a destination!
