Our event’s calendar is bursting with ideas for this weekend, between farmers’ markets* and local theater productions there is plenty to do, but we have our heart set one fantastic fundraiser.
Fire engine enthusiast unite at the 5th Annual Adam Myers Day Memorial Fundraiser at the Middlebury Rec Park this Saturday morning! From 10 to 12, the fire department will put on a “mini-muster,” which is a child-sized version of firefighter sports and competition; think of a sort of field-days for firefighters. The Middlebury Fire Department will bring LOTS of fire trucks – last year they even brought a fire rescue boat, yummy snacks, and a bunch of fun games including the ever-popular foam pit. This fun day is hosted by the Middlebury Fire Department in honor of their fellow volunteer Adam Myers. Adam died tragically in a car crash that thankfully spared the lives of his wife and two young sons. Each year the community celebrates the life of Adam with a weekend long event at Two Brothers Tavern to help raise money for the men and women of the MFD who risk their lives to save others, to learn more click here.
If you plan to attend here’s our MiniBury tip: Bring a bathing suit or clothing you don’t mind getting messy for the foam pit, plus a change of clothing for after.
What’s your family doing this weekend? As always, you can submit your events online here or email us suggestions.
*Next weekend, July 30th Middlebury Farmers’ Market is hosting Youth Venders Day. If you are 16 or younger, and would like to set up a booth at the Middlebury Farmers’ Market on July 30th, please contact Maggie Ryan at [email protected] or send a text to 802-282-7455. This is a great opportunity for our future farmers, craftsperson’s, or bakers to show off their talents and earn a little money.
